The ‘Princess of the South’ or ‘Poison Ivi’ who was born Iviona Hatch to Boosie Badazz is a young American rap artiste. She began her journey in the music industry in 2011 when she was 10 years old. Since then, the rapper has dropped a couple of songs like ‘Daughter of a King and Queen’, ‘London, Ball’, ‘Go Off’ and lots more. Her music has propelled her into the limelight.

Albeit being initially known as the daughter of the aforementioned American rapper, that isn’t the only thing Iviona Hatch is known for. Already, she has managed to garner a lot of fans on her Instagram and Youtube pages and has also started making her own money from her career.

Iviona Hatch was Born in 2001

Boosie Badazz’s daughter was born on December 4, 2001, Hatch Jr. to Torrence Ivy also known as Boosie Badazz. She hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States of America. Her mother is Walnita Decuir who was one of Boosie’s first lovers even before he became a household name in the entertainment industry.

She is currently 22 years old and is the oldest child of her father. Iviona Hatch has always had her siblings depend on her because of her position in the family. She described herself as many things including a lyrical genius.

Hatch learned a lot of different things from her parents. While her mother taught her how to respect herself as a lady and other good morals, her father taught her to be street smart and not let anyone cheat her off her money.

She began to Rap when her Dad was Sentenced to Jail

Iviona always knew her father was a rap icon and so picked up on his talent from a very young age. She started to rap at the age of 6/7 and by the time she was 11, already had an album ready.

The young lady used to write most of her songs by herself but had help occasionally. One of her earliest wins was performing for former U.S. president, Barrack Obama during the Presidential inauguration.

Iviona has songs such as ‘Daughter of a King and Queen’ and ‘Pick Your Poison’, and most of her inspiration came from her life experiences. She became fully motivated after her dad was sentenced to jail, being found guilty of drug dealing and murder in 2009.

Some of Iviona’s earliest songs even bordered around her father and his predicament and need for release.

Her mother also got in trouble with the law as she was caught trying to smuggle in drugs for the father of her kids into jail in 2010.

She played around with music while in school although basketball distracted her from focusing. When she graduated from school, Iviona spent more time doing music. She now calls herself Poison Ivy and prefers to use that as her brand name.

She can freestyle but prefers to write her music and especially with no beats. Interestingly, Poison Ivi is an unsigned artiste. She believes she is unique and does her music differently even through her style of dressing and choice of music which she learned from her father.
