Archie Verspeeten Obituary, Death Cause – The Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital was the location where Archie V. Verspeeten, who was 92 years old, passed away in a calm and serene manner on November 25th, 2023. The late Isadore Verspeeten (1963) and Aimee (DeBock) Verspeeten (1953) welcomed their son Archie into the world on February 21, 1931, in the town of Woodslee, Ontario. During his lifetime, Archie was a member of the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs, which was once known as St. John de Brebeuf.
Within the Delhi-LaSalette Council #5095, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served in the third and fourth degrees. The Delhi Belgian Club counted him as a Lifetime Member, a former President, and a Board Member. He was a very supportive individual. Archie, who spent his whole adult life in Delhi, cultivated tobacco and established a prosperous trucking firm. His late wife, Irene, was also actively involved in the business. Over the course of the past quarter of a century, he has reverted back to his roots in farming and moved his attention to charitable giving. This turned out to be Archie’s passion, and he made significant contributions to a number of medical facilities located in the southwestern region of Ontario.
Irene (Clarysse) Verspeeten, who passed away in 2017, considered him to be her beloved husband and greatest friend for 66 years. Archie was a devoted and honorable father to his children Ronald (2022) (Lori), Dennis (Nancy), Brian (Marlene), Alan (2015) (Dianne), and Mark (Julie). He was also the proud father of Mark. The cherished grandfather of Scott, Carrie, Bradley, Craig, Melissa, Colin, Christine, Corrin, Kevin, Amy, and Jordan, as well as 15 great-grandchildren. Cecile Clarysse, his sister-in-law, as well as a number of nieces and nephews, are also among those who survive him. Previously, his sister, Mary Huffman, as well as his brother-in-law, Clare Huffman, passed away before him. Additionally, his sister-in-laws, Blanche Hurd (Mac), and Shirley Clarysse, as well as his brother-in-laws, Roger Clarysse (Laura) and Rene Clarysse, passed away before him.
