Although Don Lorenzo Salviati, the Italian-born, and his ex-wife Beverly D’Angelo have been apart for over four decades, the pair seems to have won a permanent space in the media thanks to the celebrity status of his ex-wife who is known for her role as Ellen Griswold in the National Lampoon’s Vacation films.

A Look at the Early life of Beverly D’Angelo’s Ex-Husband
It was on the 10th of March 1957 that Don Lorenzo Salviati was born to his parents in Rome, Italy. He was raised alongside his sisters Donna Maria Olivia and Donna Dianora, his only known siblings.
His father Don Forese Salviati was the 5th duke of the Marchese di Montieri and Boccheggiano, Nobile Romano Coscritt. There is limited information about his mother Maria Grazia Grawonska who is said to be an American.
As a result of his parent’s affluence, Don had everything he needed at his beck and call. He also attended one of the most prominent schools in Italy and thereafter proceeded to the University of South California where he studied business management.
Though a duke, he made a career for himself in the entertainment industry as an actor. Don appeared in the film National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983) where he portrayed the role of a bar piano player.

Don Lorenzo Salviati Was Married for Three Years
Although Don Lorenzo’s present relationship status is yet to be established, he was previously married to Beverly D’Angelo, an American actress whom he met through a mutual friend in 1980. As the story goes, they soon became friends after their first meeting and later started dating. After a period of one year, Don asked Beverly to be his wife and without hesitation, the then 30 years old accepted.
Following this, the pair got married in 1981 in a private ceremony which was held on a yacht and witnessed by their friends. According to Beverly, they wanted to do something for themselves and didn’t think of getting anyone involved hence they chartered a yacht. She also terms the ceremony as a Poseidon adventure.
Unfortunately, after spending 3 years as a couple, the pair began to experience trouble in their marriage that eventually led to the exit door. In 1984, Don and Beverly officially announced their divorce and parted ways but it wasn’t until 1994 that their divorce was finalized. Details as to what led to their divorce were however not disclosed. Even though fans linked it to the busy schedules in their career and the celebrity status of his wife.
