Cody Perez Bishop, TX Obituary – Car Accident: In loving memory of Bishop High School teacher & coach killed in crash on Farm-to-Market Road 70.

In a tragic incident, a single-car accident has resulted in a fatality. Bishop High School finds itself in a state of mourning as they bid farewell to science teacher and coach Cody Ryan Perez.

“It is with a very heavy Badger heart that we announce the passing of one of our very own, Cody Perez. Cody was an exceptional teacher, coach, mentor, colleague, and friend. He was a valued member of our Badger family and will be dearly missed by the many individuals whose lives he impacted. Please keep Cody’s family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time,” Bishop High School wrote in a statement shared on social media.

In a late-night incident, Perez found himself in a precarious situation while travelling west on Farm-to-Market Road 70. At approximately 11:40 p.m., Perez who was driving a 2017 Honda Civic encountered a curve, resulting in a loss of control over the vehicle.

According to Sgt. Harold ‘Rob’ Mallory of the Texas Department of Public Safety Public Information, it was reported on Monday that Perez’s vehicle collided with signs leading up to the curve, causing it to swerve off the road and come to a stop in a nearby ditch.

The 29-year-old resident of Kingsville was ejected from his vehicle and tragically lost his life at the scene.

According to Mallory, the crash is currently under investigation in order to determine any potential contributing factors.
