Early Life:

Cynthia Anyse Scurtis was born on the 28th of December, 1972, to John Scurtis and Evangeline Scurtis in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida. Born and raised in Florida, Scurtis comes from a strict and religious family and didn’t have much leeway when she was young. Not the only child in the family, Scurtis had two siblings, Constantine Scurtis, and Anastasia Scurtis. On the academic side of things, Scurtis attended Gulliver Schools and was a cheerleader during her school years. Scurtis was also into sports at a very young age and was a part of the volleyball team. She eventually enrolled at Ohio University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. Scurtis continued with her education and attended Nova Southeastern University. She graduated with a master’s degree in Psychology. 

Sacrificing her career:

Following her graduation from Nova Southeastern University, Scurtis began teaching psychology. She moved back to her hometown and started working at Coconut Grove High School. However, following her relationship with Rodriguez, Scurtis sacrificed her career to support Rodriguez including his 2004 move to New York.
