Dr. Simone Whitmore was born on the 23rd of February 1967 in Nashville, Tennessee to an African-American couple. Her father’s name was Frank T. Baxter, who passed away in 2016 under tragic circumstances. Her mother’s name is not publicly known. She grew up in Nashville with her mother after her parents separated when she was young. Dr. Simone Whitmore has no siblings that are known to the public.
Raised by a single mother, Simone didn’t have the best of childhood. But in spite of all the troubles, Simone always wanted to be a doctor. After graduating from a local high school, Simone enrolled at Spelman College. She graduated with a degree in biology/pre-medicine. After getting her doctorate in medicine from East Tennessee State University, Simone moved to Boston to complete her medical residency. She completed her residency at Boston Medical Center/Boston University. She completed her residency at Boston Medical Center in 1997 and became a board-certified OB-GYN in 1999.
Family Grief
Even though Simone was raised by a single mother, she was always in touch with her father. But in 2014, her father Frank T. Faxter Jr went missing. The police carried out a statewide search and after a month-long investigation, found her father dead. The body was found in an empty house in Nashville with an ID. The family held a service for her father on the 6th of May 2016. While Simone has never revealed how close she was to her father, his death is believed to have impacted Simone’s life in a big way. Especially the way she is raising her children.
