Jonathan Berkery is a New Jersey-born singer who got into the spotlight as the love child of Tom Jones and the former model, Katherine Berkery. He was conceived from a 3 days fling between his parents back in 1987. Unfortunately, he continues to seek acceptance and recognition from his father who allegedly wants nothing to do with him. 

While Jonathan is not so popular, his father Tom has proven to be a superstar in the music industry known for songs like, It’s Not Unusual, Delilah, What’s New Pussycat, I’ll Never Fall In Love Again and If I Only Knew. His decades long career have seen him record 40+ albums and sold over 100 million records which have earned him multiple achievements and awards.

Jonathan Berkery Was Raised by a Single Mother

Jonathan Berkery was born on June 27, 1988, following an affair between his father, Tom Jones, and his mother, Katherine Berkery. According to our findings, his parents first crossed paths in the United States in 1987 during his father’s musical tour and soon got into a 3 days fling that would later birth their son.

Unfortunately, after Jonathan’s birth, he was abandoned by his father Tom who claimed he fell for seduction and never made plans for their son, Jonathan. As such, his mother took full responsibility for him and juggle several jobs to make ends meet.

Later, Jonathan’s mother decided to file a lawsuit against her baby’s father for neglecting his child and responsibility. Tom Jones was reportedly forced into getting a paternity test which proved that the two were indeed father and son, yet, Tom refused to be a part of Jonathan’s life. He only agreed to pay for child support until Jonathan turns 18 as ordered by the Manhattan family court judge Judith B. Sheindin.

His Father’ Abandonment Sent Him into the Streets

Following the rejection Jonathan suffered from his father, he soon got into the streets and started using a number of drugs including cocaine, and ecstasy. In an interview, Jonathan blamed his father for how his life turned out. He stated that he was an angry kid seeking a father’s love and attention but never got any.

It didn’t take long before Jonathan became a drug addict and later, a drug dealer. Consequently, his mother threw him out on the street. The New Jersey native became homeless and switched between sleeping in parks and homeless shelters.

He faced the law many times following his lifestyle and later spent 4 days in jail. After his release, he was sent to rehab. It was at this point that he turned on a new leave and picked up his musical career.
