LaMarcus Aldridge is a name that NBA fans will be very familiar with, especially considering that he is a six-time NBA All-Star. Before joining the NBA, he played for the University of Texas as a power forward, but after two seasons at school, he decided it was time to go pro. LaMarcus was the second overall pick during the 2006 NBA Draft, with Andrea Bargnani receiving the coveted “Number One Draft Picks” award.

Who is LaMarcus Aldridge?

LaMarcus Nurae Aldridge was born on July 19, 1985. He gained international attention as an American professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA. After being selected as the second overall team in the 2006 NBA selection, he was with the Portland Trail Blazers for nine seasons but signed with the Spurs in 2015.

He was very fast and aggressive on the ground, his size and athletic body helped him become a top player. Unfortunately, in 2007 he suffered from Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, a heart condition, and so LaMarcus had to suspend the rest of the regular 2006-2007 season to treat his condition. In the 2011-12 season, the baller continued to undergo surgery to correct complications associated with his heart disease. Since then, however, he has been playing in the top league of the sport again.

LaMarcus’ activities are not limited to basketball. He has appeared on several television shows and has demonstrated his acting talent. He is also regularly involved in charitable causes; it is always appreciated when celebrities give something back to the community,

When LaMarcus Aldridge was born in Dallas, Texas, no one was surprised when he was born at 11 pounds and over 22 centimeters. His mother, Georgia, stands at an impressive 6 ft 2 inches, while his father, Marvin, stands at 6 ft 6 inches. As LaMarcus grew up, he enjoyed soccer and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Despite the Cowboys, basketball was the family game. Marvin was a high school basketball legend, as was LaVontae – LaMarcus’ older brother. LaMarcus Aldridge has the physical appearance to excel in basketball, but not the raw talent. That could be because he joined his first league only in the 4th grade.

LaMarcus was often the last boy to be selected at “pick-up games”. Unfortunately, basketball was a lesson in humiliation for most of his childhood. It didn’t help that his father had a drinking problem and the fact that the lights were off because sometimes the bills weren’t paid on time. His father, Marvin, was not very involved in LaMarcus’ life. When LaMarcus reached his teenage years, his mother had kicked his father out of the house.

By the end of the day, LaMarcus was channeling all of this into becoming a player, and needless to say, the effort paid off for him.
