Mauricio Abaroa Suzarte was born on September 29th,1962 in Mexico City to Gabriel Abaroa and his wife Cristina Suzarte. Mauricio is the second child among his other five siblings, Gabriel, Cristina, Sergio, Liliana, and Alejandro.

He grew up in a musical home and got his earlier influence from his family. One Christmas when he was only 6, his father took him to a music shop to pick whatever they wanted, ever since life never remained the same. The event marked the beginning of his long musical career.

Mauricio studied Architecture before proceeding to Columbia University where he obtained a post-graduate certificate in Marketing and Finance.
