Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson is an Australian actor, comedian, writer, and producer born on March 2, 1980. She started playing the role of Toula on the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) comedy series Pizza in 2003, shortly after graduating from the Australian Theatre for Young People. Later, she co-wrote, produced, and starred in The Wedge, a sketch comedy series (2006–2007).

Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Bownds was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, to Sue Bownds, a professional dog handler. Her mother died of cancer when Rebel was eight years old. She has three older brothers; Ryot, Ryley, and Xavier. She grew up in Kenthurst, Parramatta, and Castle Hill suburbs. Wilson attended Tara Anglican School for Girls.
