To unlock Robomando, start a run on Drizzle difficulty, take the Strange Battery on Stage 5, and place it in the Rift Chest in the Final Stage. Then, start a second run on Rainstorm or Monsoon difficulty, find the Rift Chest on Stage 2, press the teleporter button on Stage 3 between 22:00 and 22:59, and die by the red robot on Stage 4.

How to Unlock Robomando in Risk of Rain Returns
Before starting, make sure to avoid Prophet’s Cape as it causes crashes when unlocking Robomando and disable the Artifact of Sacrifice.
Also, if you do this in multiplayer, all players will unlock this character, so feel free to bring friends alongside.
Let’s examine step-by-step how to unlock Robomando in Risk of Rain Returns.
First Run – How to Find the Clay Pot
Start a run with any character, on the Drizzle difficulty, with the Artifact of Command equipped, and set damage dealt to 200% and damage taken to 10%.
Progress until you reach Stage 5, Temple of the Elders, and look for a clay pot on the far right side of the map as shown in the image above.
If it’s not there, it may spawn on the far left side but you will need to use a movement skill or the Hopoo Feather item to reach it. Once you break, you’ll get the Strange Battery item.
How to Find the Rift Chest
With the Strange Battery item secured, head to the Final Stage, the Contact Light. Pick up the keycard from there and head to the Cabin area. Drop from the far right side and hug the left wall to enter the secret cave there.
In this cave, on the left side, jump on the small gap and you’ll notice a secret tunnel. Follow that tunnel and you’ll find the Rift Chest. Interact with the chest to place the secret battery there and jump off the cliff on its right to continue the level.
Defeat or die to Providence to start another run. You must kill him or die; quitting will not allow you to get Robomando.
Second Run – Find the Rift Chest Again
Start another run on Rainstorm on Monsoon difficulty, with any character, and enable the Artifact of Command.
On Stage 2, in a random location around the map, you’ll find the Rift Chest again. From it, get the Strange Battery.
Stage 3 Teleporter
Defeat the Stage 2 boss, progress to Stage 3, and charge the teleporter. However, do not enter immediately. Wait for the timer to reach between 22:00 and 22:59 and then press the teleporter.
Stage 4 Red Robot
Now, you’ll get teleported to the Hive Cluster – Deep Undergrowth. Explore the map and look for a small green arrow, as shown in the image above. Insert the battery there and let the robot kill you.
You must not kill Robomando and you must die here. Otherwise, you won’t unlock him. Once you die, you’ll unlock Robomando!
