Like many couples, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin asked a close friend to be their daughter Apple's godfather when she was born. However, not many children are lucky enough to have a big-name star like Simon Pegg step into the role. But it sounds like Pegg — and his brand of comedy —are up for the challenge. "I'd like to think I'm a really great, fun godfather," Pegg told the Irish Examiner in 2007. "It's much more interesting than trying to be a good influence on her. I'm a comedian — it's what they expect."

Pegg and his wife, Maureen McCann, returned the honor when their daughter was born. The Coldplay singer is godfather to Pegg's daughter, Matilda. He even performed a song dedicated to Matilda when she was a baby. "[Chris] sang a song for [Matilda] in Berlin when she was born," Pegg told People in 2013. "He dedicated one of the songs, and I was really chuffed about it." He also told the magazine that he loved bringing pastries to Apple and Moses Martin, because what are godparents for if not helping kids sneak a little junk food?
