Thomas “Tom” L. Henderson, a beloved resident of the rural area of Eau Claire, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the age of 61. Born in Independence, Missouri, Tom spent his formative years in Janesville, Wisconsin, before settling in Eau Claire. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, cherished relationships, and a deep appreciation for nature.
Tom’s childhood was filled with fond memories in the picturesque town of Janesville, Wisconsin. Growing up surrounded by the beauty of nature, he developed a strong connection to the outdoors. This connection would shape his interests and passions later in life.
Throughout his career, Tom demonstrated dedication and perseverance. He worked his way up to the position of shop manager at Shopko, where he dedicated twenty years of his life. Tom’s commitment to his work and his colleagues made him a respected figure in the company. Outside of work, he found joy in spending time with his nephews, engaging in fishing trips, and engaging in friendly card games.
Tom’s love for the natural world was evident in his active participation in hunting. He found solace and excitement in exploring the wilderness and appreciating the creatures that shared it with him. His passion for the outdoors was complemented by his love for spending quality time with his nephews, creating lasting memories during fishing adventures. Additionally, Tom had a knack for card games and enjoyed the thrill of victory.
Tom’s passing leaves a void in the lives of his loved ones. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Cryer, his brother Jim Henderson and his wife Melissa, his sister Debbie Lynch and her husband John, as well as his nephews Austin Henderson, Jack Lynch and his wife Becky, and Dylan Lynch and his wife Kaija. Tom’s cherished pets, Nyala and Ellie, were also an integral part of his life and will miss him dearly.
Before his passing, Tom had already bid farewell to several beloved family members and pets. Among them were his stepfather Marvin Cryer, his sibling Larry Henderson, two cats named Jake and Jenny, and a dog named Kudu. Their memories will forever be treasured in the hearts of those who loved them.
Funeral Arrangements
