Paulina Gretzky was born on the 19th of December, 1988, in Los Angeles California. Born to Wayne Gretzky and Janet Jonas, Paulina comes from an affluent household. Her father is considered to be one of the all-time greats in NHL and holds the title for the leading scorer in NHL history, with more goals and assists than any other player. On the other hand, Paulina’s mother, Janet Jonas, is an American actress who made appearances in movies including Annie (1982), Staying Alive (1983), Snow White Live (1980), The Beastmaster (1982), Grease 2 (1982), The Flamingo Kid (1984),  A Chorus Line (1985), and American Anthem (1987).  She is the eldest of five children and the granddaughter of actor Walter Gretzky.As a young kid, Paulina spent most of her time with her four siblings, brothers Ty, Trevor, and Tristan Gretzky and sister Emma Gretzky.

When Paulina was seven years old she moved with her family to New York as her father started playing for the New York Rangers. There she attended Nightingale-Bamford High School, an elite all-girls school in Manhattan.
